Everyone could use a little more joy and happiness in their lives, and what better way than to eat your way there, doubling your pleasure!
Anyway, I realised that there are loads of recipes out there for hash cakes, hash brownies, hash cookies etc etc, but where’s the joy in that if you don’t have a sweet tooth? So, for those of you who prefer your food a little savoury I have tracked down this incredible recipe from the Cannabis Cafe collection. It was a tough job, but someone had to do it!
This pizza is absolutely delicious. You could always buy a ready made one, sprinkle your tasty herbs on the top then cover with cheese and cook, but I always think it’s much more fun to do things from scratch; the reward is so much greater when you’ve put in a bit of effort!
Firstly make the base!
You will need;
- 450g (1lb) plain flour
- 1 sachet of instant dried yeast
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 175ml (6fl oz) warm water
- 2 tablespoons oil (if you can get it, hemp oil is great here!)
Method
Place all the ingredients into a bowl gently mixing them together into a dough, then turn out onto a clean, lightly floured surface and give it a good kneed for about 5 minutes.
Place the dough into a large bowl, cover loosely with a damp cloth then leave to double in size. (Patience!) Once it has done this punch it down and press into a well greased 30cm (12 inch) flan tin. Alternatively you could always place and shape it on to a large baking sheet. Leave this in a warm place for 15 minutes while you prepare the topping.
You will need
- 100g (4oz) mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 clove of garlic, crushed
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 100g (4oz) mozzarella cheese, sliced
- A few cherry tomatoes, halved
- Drizzle of olive oil
- 4 tablespoons tomato puree
- A pinch of oregano
- A little fresh basil, shredded
- 1-2 tablespoons ground weed
Method
Roast the mushrooms, onion, garlic, pepper and tomatoes in the olive oil in a hot oven (220C/425F/gas mark 7) for about 10 minutes
Cover the base in tomato puree then top with the roasted vegetables, herbs, weed, and finally top with slices of mozzarella. Make sure you use plenty of cheese here! Top with the fresh basil.
Bake for about 10-15 minutes on the top shelf.
There you go! Enjoy! Just remember not to enjoy all at once; this pizza will serve 4-6 of you, so don’t be greedy. As I’m sure you know, ingested cannabis takes a while to take effect, so don’t go gobbling the whole lot down, or you’ll end up with a lot more than you bargained for.
